We're seeking an experienced veterinary assistant to join our team at Kenmore Veterinary Hospital, a full-service companion animal hospital dedicated to providing exceptional care. Key Responsibilities:
  • Animal Care: Assist with monitoring animal health, administering medication, maintaining animal comfort, and providing post-operative care. Disinfect kennels, exam rooms, and other areas where animals are treated.
  • Examinations and Procedures: Restrain animals during exams, vaccinations, and medical procedures, and assist veterinarians and technicians as needed.
  • Medical Records: Accurately record animal information, medical history, and treatment plans.
  • Client Communication: Greet clients, answer phone calls, and provide basic information about animal care and treatment.
  • Clinic Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment, restocking supplies and performing basic cleaning tasks.
  • Laboratory Tasks: Assist with laboratory tests, such as preparing samples and running tests, and familiarize yourself with laboratory equipment.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, and medical terminology
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and handle animals of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with Fear Free handling
  • Proficiency in setting up and breaking down surgery rooms and dental procedures in a timely manner

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Starting base pay: $21-$25 per hour
