Dessert Holdings is looking for a bilingual Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Dianne's Fine Desserts based in Newburyport, MA to support HR tasks and objectives to foster an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing engagement, productivity, quality and the ongoing development of a superior workforce. Reporting to the site HR Manager, this position is responsible for supporting the HR team, HR policies and programs, Employee Relations, general HR activities, Performance Management, and HR administration, while ensuring that the organization is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a partner to the plant leadership team to provide guidance on human resource issues and strategies to attract, develop, engage, and retain the workforce.
- Work with site leaders on disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition initiatives, and training and development.
- Lead full cycle recruitment efforts for hourly positions, including posting open roles, sourcing, conducting interviews, presenting offers, and conducting onboarding and orientation. Maintain relationship with temporary agencies.
- Ensure accurate entry of new hires into HRIS, e-Verify, payroll/time clock, etc. and prepare new hire files and complete termination paperwork.
- Act as first point of contact for employee questions, and support HR initiatives such as benefits enrollment, audits, internal communications, employee engagement survey, etc.
- Maintain confidentiality, employee files and records in electronic and paper form
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience in HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS (UKG preferred)
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Proficient knowledge of HR functions and best practices
