IT Network Analyst

Job Description:
The Network Analyst will leverage a deep understanding of networking technology and protocols to support and troubleshoot Amphenol HSIO’s advanced global infrastructure. This infrastructure includes Fortigate Firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, SD-WAN, Azure Cloud services, and Cisco Meraki. The Network Analyst must possess strong communication skills, be proactive, require minimal supervision, and be comfortable working with various levels of management. This position does not include people management responsibilities. On-call availability is required.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze network performance across cloud and on-premises environments, identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
- Utilize network analytics tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Auvik, Wireshark, FortiAnalyzer) to ensure continuous and optimal network performance.
- Collaborate with the Network Engineering and Security teams to recommend improvements in network design, security policies, and performance optimizations.
- Document, develop, and review operational processes and troubleshooting guides for Network Support and Operations staff.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and generate reports to optimize capacity, reliability, and security.
- Provide insights on firewall logs and recommend security policy optimizations.
- Work closely with Operations, Support, and Architecture team members to implement proactive monitoring and reporting solutions that maximize uptime and visibility.
What You Bring to the Table:
Education:
- College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proven experience as a Network Analyst or in a similar role, with at least 3 years of experience in analyzing and optimizing both on-premises and cloud networks.
Experience:
- Support, administer, and configure FortiGate Firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and Cisco Meraki network devices and policies.
- Work closely with Operations, Support, and Architecture team members to implement proactive monitoring and reporting solutions that maximize uptime, reliability, and visibility.
- Document, develop, and review operational processes and troubleshooting guides for Network Support and Operations staff.
- Perform application updates, security patches, and configuration changes on network hardware, services, and systems.
- Proactively monitor network performance across cloud and on-premises environments, identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
- Utilize cloud-native and on-premises monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Auvik, Wireshark) to ensure continuous and optimal network performance.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues related to cloud services, M365 applications, and hybrid network configurations.
Technical Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of Azure networking experience, including administration, troubleshooting, and automation (scripting).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with FortiGate Firewall administration.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with FortiManager and Forti Analyzer.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a Cisco Meraki environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting routing and switching in a complex environment.
- Solid working knowledge of networking theory, including LAN, WAN, SAN, and Wireless technologies (Fortinet and Cisco).
- Professional-level experience with advanced routing and switching technologies:
- Layer-2: VLAN, QoS, IGMP, Multicast, MPLS, hierarchical network architectures.
- Layer-3: EIGRP, BGP, IPv4, IPv6, Software Defined Networking, VPN technologies, Microsoft Azure Networking.
- Strong understanding of access control lists (ACLs) and firewall concepts.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN technology and its implementation in cloud and hybrid networks.
- Experience with Azure ExpressRoute.
- Adept at 802.11 wireless technologies in an enterprise implementation and supporting a secure enterprise-wide wireless infrastructure.
- Experience with 802.1x configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of network tools such as Wireshark and Auvik.
- Strong understanding of the network architecture lifecycle (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize).
Certifications (Preferred):
- Cisco Certification: CCNA required; CCNP preferred.
- Industry Certifications: Fortinet NSE4+, Network+, or similar preferred.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate preferred.
- CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) is a plus.
