A busy family near Lake Bluff, IL is seeking a skilled and experienced housekeeper with an eye for detail. If you take pride in maintaining a pristine, organized environment while handling delicate items with care and precision we have an exciting opportunity.

 

Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, and highly organized Housekeeper to ensure that the home runs smoothly and remains in impeccable condition. The ideal candidate will be a mature self-starter who takes initiative and capably manages multiple tasks with ease. You’ll work independently, reporting directly to the principals and will collaborate with other team members.

 

What We’re Looking For

• Prior Experience: Previous experience as a Housekeeper in a similar home with verifiable references is a must.
• Attention to Detail: You must have a keen eye for detail and knowledge of how to care for materials such as artwork, fine furnishings, crystal, china, silver, brass, marble, fine linens, etc.
• Organization: The Housekeeper will capably maintain schedules for deep cleaning and organize various areas of the home, including wardrobes, closets, and laundry.
• Professionalism & Discretion: A positive, pleasant demeanor and a professional appearance, with an understanding of confidentiality.
• Communication Skills: Able to effectively communicate with the family and other team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Receptive to Feedback: We are seeking a professional who enjoys learning the family’s preferences.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of the residence including daily and deep cleaning tasks.
• Care for and maintain all household items with proper techniques and supplies.
• Handle laundry, including ironing, steaming, and maintaining wardrobes.
• Monitor household cleaning supplies inventory and request replacements as needed.
• Receive deliveries and handle vendor interactions.
• Assist with travel preparations and packing/unpacking as requested.
• Perform additional tasks and errands as needed to ensure the family’s needs are met.

 

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly Rate: $40 - $45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
• Schedule
  • Monday – Friday,
  • Start time could be between 7:00 am and 9:00 am (the principals are willing to discuss this with the right candidate), ending between 3:00 and 5:00 pm
  • 8-hour day
  • Some flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
