Team Leader Sanitation - 3rd Shift
JOB FUNCTION:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Assist the Sanitation Supervisor in all aspects of the Sanitation Department. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Works independently taking initiative toward improved standards of cleanliness through hands-on involvement with Sanitation processes
- Maintains an active presence on the production floor with Sanitation employees
- Facilities operation by supporting workers in their roles
- Assists with the training, development and coaching of subordinate assistants
- Maintains a clean, safe and sanitary work area
- Assures Sanitation equipment is maintained, operational and correctly used
- Understands and correctly uses cleaning chemicals safely and efficiently
- Ensures Sanitation personnel are using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when required
- Ensures and oversees employee breaks occur in a timely manner
- Communicates at shift changeovers with Sanitation counterparts any concerns for the dept
- Communicates with Production personnel to determine cleaning priorities
- Coordinates shift activities to ensure that all schedules are maintained and assignment are completed
- Coordinates work efforts when personnel brought in for weekend and shutdown periods
- Cleaning compounds and sanitizing agents shall be identified, held and stored in a manner that protects against contamination of food, food contact surfaces, or food packaging materials
- Must be aware of OSHA hazard communication standards and apply this knowledge to daily job functions
- Completes all necessary paperwork and reports as needed
- Assists supervisor with Safety, training, and performance audits
- Participates in the GFSI/FSSC22000 yearly audit and assist in the development of procedures and corrective actions
- Must adhere to the plant’s HACCP plans
- Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
- Performs other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets with Supervisor of the previous shift on a daily basis to review plant status
- and determine action plan as needed
- Able to fill vacant positions and work as needed
- Cleans various areas including floors, bathrooms, doors, walls, glass)
- Secures all department tools in specified location at the end of the shift
- Cleans various items (including equipment, utensils, and buckets)
- Assist with pest control program
- Operates corrugated bailing machine and trash compactor
- Actively participates in Continues Improvement projects and processes

03. Must be able to perform job duties at a pace that is consistent with the pace set by the
Supervisor of the department
04. Must be able to set a pace for job assignments
05. Possessing excellent listening and comprehension skills
06. Possessing normal to excellent manual dexterity and motor skills
07. Ability to do overhead lifting and bending
08. Possessing good eye-hand coordination
09. Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs.
10. Familiarity with OSHA standards
12. High School diploma or equivalent
13. Basic computer skills
This position reports directly to the Supervisor and or Manager
