Summary

As a Warehouse Lead at ATS, you will play a pivotal role organizing safe and efficient receipt, storage and shipment of warehoused cargo while ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met. The Warehouse Lead is responsible for security of the building and cargo, arrangement of goods within the warehouse, overseeing and processing order receipt, picking, packing and distribution activities while ensuring productivity targets are met and maintained. This position performs work in both an office and warehouse setting with approximately 85% of the time spent in the warehouse and 15% of the time spent in the office, depending on business needs. This position is essential for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

The base salary of this position is $ 22/hr.-$28/hr. with total compensation range $23hr.-$29/hr. with additional opportunity to earn incentive based on activity goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Process inbound and outbound orders from external customers and internal sales team.

· Lead the proper, accurate and on-time delivery of orders to customers while ensuring a high level of customer service.

· Train and lead warehouse staff, while maintaining inventory control.

· Demonstrates consistent dependability in attendance, punctuality, and schedule adherence.

· Maintain an organized and clean office and warehouse.

· Properly follow all company standards, policies and procedures.

· Act in compliance with health, safety and records legislation.

· Identifies problems, potential problem situations and informs Management as appropriate so that a unified plan can be developed for correction.

· Coordinates and distributes workloads proactively and accordingly to ensure priority work is completed.

· Makes suggestions for and implements process improvement to maximize efficiency within the team.

· Leads warehouse and office personnel simultaneously working alongside them to complete tasks when possible.

· Acts as a liaison between office and warehouse.

· Update computer systems to reflect accurate information.

· Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products.

· Participates in quality and continuous improvement efforts.

· Effectively leads group meetings with great attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

· Continuously re-evaluates workload to align with organizational priorities.

· Operate all terminal equipment and vehicles safely to limit risk and liability to the employee, visitors, and company.

· Position may require work responsibilities outside of normal business hours and infrequent travel may be required.

Work Environment - Personal Protective Equipment

This position will routinely require exposure to distribution areas which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe boots and high visibility clothing. The position is exposed to both air and non-air-conditioned temperatures, lighting and traditional equipment as found in a typical warehouse environment.

· May stand for long periods of time based on workload.

· Operates a keyboard and mouse and utilize a computer monitor(s) as needed.

· The employee will be in vastly different conditions daily.

· Occasionally positioning self under, on top of, or in awkward positions to secure loads or fix things.

· The employee may reach above shoulder heights or below the waist and lift as required to pick orders or store materials throughout the workday. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds and use proper lifting techniques. Must be able to lift/move parts, tools, equipment:

Exposure to:

  • Loud noises occasionally require hearing protection.
  • Temperature extremes intermittently due to outside weather conditions.
  • Dirt, dust, grease and odors intermittently.
  • Situations requiring eye protection and steel-toed boots.

Education and Experience

· Higher education (i.e., two- or four-year degree) preferred; or 2-3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the logistics industry or related field.

· Reliable transportation is required, will need to flex between multiple warehouses based on business need.

· Must be forklift certified.

· Must be able to operate all warehouse-related equipment.

· Excellent customer service skills (internal and external).

· Strong communication skills (written, listening and verbal).

· Ability to navigate challenging situations with both internal and external customers.

· Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information and develops alternative solutions.

· Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, etc.

· Willing and able to travel infrequently, including overnight travel.

· Background in auto shop/welding/maintenance areas preferrable and beneficial.

Pay: Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of this position is $22/hr.-$28/hr. with total compensation range $23hr.-$29/hr. with additional opportunity to earn incentive based on activity goals. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic location as compared to others doing substantially similar work. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which can vary depending on individual and/or company performance.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm (limited-zero over time) at warehouse in Ladson, SC with additional travel between warehouse sites as needed.

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift (7:30am-4:30pm)
  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights
