Manufacturing Engineer Intern

Summary

The Engineering Intern assists the Manufacturing Engineering team with production projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital justifications.  The position provides hands-on engineering experience in an exciting Electronics Manufacturing environment.  Engineering Intern candidates should be able to work 40 hours a week, on-site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Helps develop, improve and revise manufacturing processes.
  • Helps design and implement tooling and fixtures for effective manufacturing.
  • Helps troubleshoot and recommend solutions for design and production issues.
  • Analyzes cell measures and performs time studies to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Supports purchasing, quality, test, and production departments to ensure product integrity is maintained.
  • Supports cost justification studies and ROI for capital equipment.
  • Supports SOW development for equipment implementation and validation.
  • Works on other projects as assigned by the Manager.
  • Create Coaxial Wire Stripping Programs for Mechanical Wire Stripper and Laser Dielectric removal machines.
  • Design and Implement Automated laser distance check for cable cutting area.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Graduate or currently enrolled in College or University Engineering Program
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, preferred
  • Extremely well-organized with superior attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, work in a high pace environment and meet deadlines.
