Reports to: General Manager
Classification: Seasonal, Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Summary: The hospitality internship offers hands-on experience in customer service, group sales, and daily retail operations of a popular outdoor resort. Interns will assist with guest relations, park maintenance coordination, and ensure a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction in all aspects of the operation.
- Continuous contact with staff and public.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Genuine concern for guests’ recreation experience.
- Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Greets and assist guests in a courteous manner, in person and by phone.
- Ensures rules and regulations are properly communicated to our guests.
- Ensures guests come and go in a manner that ensures the safety of other guests, and staff.
- Helps lead the sales effort for groups and special events, specifically expanding our client base. Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills.
- Coordinates with GM and Management team to ensure operational team is able to accommodate the needs of large groups.
- Provides hands on support for setting up and coordinating on-site special events.
- Welcomes guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, responding to or directing inquiries.
- Takes reservations using the campgrounds reservation system, ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Rising Sophomore through Senior working toward Hospitality Management degree.
- Knowledgeable about visitor services and amenities in the park and local area.
- Able to work weekends, nights and holidays.
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive attitude toward the campground resort environment.
- Genuine concern for guests camping experience.
- Able to work unsupervised.
- Able to follow direction and work in a team environment.
- Valid Driver’s License and insurable through our auto carrier.
- Experience with camping, Recreational Vehicles or recreation industries
