Position:    Human Resources Manager                                                                Status:  Full-Time; Exempt

Location:  Star Bank Maple Lake or Eden Prairie office                                        Reports To:  President, CEO Officer Status: Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Oversees all aspects of human resources, including recruitment and job placement activities; employee relations and conflict resolution, compliance, payroll, and benefits.

• As the Human Resources Manager, you will serve as a mentor to staff in maintaining a culture that aligns with the values, mission, and strategic goals of Star Bank. 

• Manages the employee onboarding and offboarding process.

• Manage employee disciplinary issues, investigations, and terminations.

• Formulates compensation guidelines and policy. Determines appropriate salary level for each position based on market rate data.

• Consults HR counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal and state law. 

• Develops and maintains a human resource information system (HRIS) that meets management information needs.

• Oversees the analysis, maintenance, communication, and reporting of employee data/records required by law or local governing bodies. 

• Implements and follows appropriate procedures to maintain confidentiality of protected information.

• Oversees issuance of HR policies. Reviews and approves revisions of employee handbook. Recommends to management for approval.

• Works with senior management in the coordination of staffing needs, employee development, achievement and recognition programs.

• Coordinate and manage annual employee apparel order.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skill / Knowledge Requirement:

• Must remain current on employment laws and regulations. Adapt work processes and procedures as necessary according to the changing regulations.

• Travel to HR networking meetings, classes, and seminars.

• Ability to prioritize task, and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Independent, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality is a must.

• Math aptitude.

• Proficiency with bank software and technology.

• Team orientation and the ability to adapt in a fun, fast-paced environment.

• Maintain knowledge of the Star Bank Employee Handbook, and bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
 
• An associate or bachelor's degree in human resources or business administration, or related field experience and training. 

• 2-5 years of experience in human resources leadership, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

• Working knowledge of employment laws, benefits administration, and HR compliance. 

 Working Conditions:

• Well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor office setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise level, only occasionally requiring exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

• Primarily sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature often requiring sitting, talking, and listening.

• Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.

• May occasionally be required to lift and/or carry over 10 pounds.
