Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and ensuring the production schedule is met. Additionally, this role supervises production staff, which includes coaching, performance management, discipline, and guidance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Contributes to the Production plan:

· Attending production meetings when necessary

· Maintaining the production schedule in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

· Assigning responsibilities to technicians

· Completing daily activity sheet

· Ensuring all processing equipment is in good working order

· Providing coaching to the technicians

· Review processing record documentation for correctness

· Assisting technician with the process when necessary

· Troubleshooting problems

· Contacting and following up with appropriate departments to resolve issues.

 

2. Maintain Production Staff

· Write and review SOP’s

· Conducting Safety, cGMP, and on the job training of the staff as they are performing their duties

· Implementing cross-training sessions which will provide an opportunity for employees to advance as well as be used in other areas within the company

· Monitor time and attendance of technicians

· Annually reviewing technicians work records

· Completes routine employee evaluations

 

3. Communicate with upper management.

· Informing Sr Manager of any changes with the production schedule

 

4. Ensures Quality:

· Periodically “spot checking” the technicians to ensure that a quality product is being manufactured in compliance with GMP

· Conducting necessary process investigations

· Batch Record review and reconciliation.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday but extended (earlier or later) work times or weekend work may be required.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High School Diploma or GED

· Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Associate degree or bachelor’s Degree

· 5+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (GMP facility ideal)
