ET Assembly Technician - 2nd Shift
This position is responsible for testing and inspecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) after assembly, using specialized test equipment to verify their functionality and identify any defects, ensuring they meet quality standards before being used in electronic devices; tasks often include setting up test procedures, running automated tests, troubleshooting failures, documenting results, and performing basic repairs when necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate automated test equipment according to established test procedures.
- Load PCBs/Assemblies onto test fixtures and initiate test sequences.
- Monitor test results and identify any deviations from specifications.
- Interpret test data and analyze results to diagnose faults.
- Investigate and troubleshoot failed PCBs to component level.
- Use debugging techniques to pinpoint faulty components or connections.
- Perform rework or repairs on identified defects as needed.
- Accurately document test results and failure analysis.
- Generate reports on test outcomes, including defect trends and quality metrics.
- Maintain detailed records of testing activities.
- Adhere to established quality standards and procedures.
- Identify and report quality issues to relevant personnel.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Calibrate and maintain test equipment to ensure accuracy.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on test systems.
- Report equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel and or Test Engineering.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- This position may require overtime for coverage on alternate shifts and weekends.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of electronic circuits and components.
- Familiarity with various test equipment like functional testers, in-circuit testers, and flying probe testers.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and test specifications.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities to identify root causes of failures.
- Logical thinking and systematic approach to problem resolution.
- Ability to accurately record test data and identify subtle deviations from specifications.
- High level of precision and meticulousness in performing test procedures.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
- Familiarity with test software and data analysis tools.
- Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and able to lift up to 25 lbs. safely.
- Independent self -starter, who can work with limited supervision.
- Ability/flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, team-building and organization skills.
- Basic computer experience a plus - Microsoft Office-Outlook/Word/Excel.
- Current J-STD-001 certification preferred
