How You’ll Help Us Connect the World:

As a Manager, Operations you will provide leadership support by managing daily operations as well as overseeing and the development of production supervisors.

This role will be based in Verna, Goa.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Managing and mentoring operations supervisors, team leaders, quality engineers, process engineers and planners to optimize overall effectiveness, increase new product speed to market, and to balance/prioritize objectives.  Lead team to achieve customer requested delivery, quality, parts per million and localization objectives.
  • Leading effort, in conjunction with the Quality organization, to develop and implement a pro-active quality plan that is consistent with the business unit goals and objectives.  Ensure that Andrew is a low cost producer by leading quality effort through continuous process/quality improvements such as the elimination of waste in operations.
  • Employing a team based philosophies and practices in establishing a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Supervising maintenance activities within production area.
  • Developing staffing plans and establishes work plans and schedules on projects.  Responsible for personnel management including recruiting/hiring, supervision, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals and terminations.  Prioritize staff workloads in order to meet product needs/objectives in all area.  Develop and train staff to ensure high skill levels.  Motivate/encourage teamwork among the workforce and maintain high employee morale and positive attitudes to achieve high level customer satisfaction.
  • Participating in overall site project management and projects including attendance at site Manager Meetings, ISO 14000 certification, etc.
  • Supervising the activities of Process Engg, Quality Engg, Buyer, Other operations supervisors.  Provide direction to team leaders, quality engineers, process engineers, planners, buyers etc.
  • Supporting procurement in developing local source to reduce dependency on the foreign vendors. Developing Sourcing strategy for the business unit.
  • Developing the annual budget for the business unit, estimate the hourly rate for the operations, build the action plan to improve the budget expenses YOY basis.
  • Performing any other relevant job as specified by management

 

Decision making required for this role:

  • Determine direction for manufacturing encompassing plan execution, deviation authorization, workflow, layout, process improvement, etc.
  • Human Resources related decisions including hiring/firing, performance evaluation, team and individual recognition, 7/24 operation, overtime, etc.

 

 

Decisions /Problems referred to Supervisor:

  • Resource issues.
  • Final budget approval.
  • Final Quality/Manufacturing plan approval.

 

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business Management or Business Administration or Diploma with relevant Experience .  MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a technical industry preferably telecommunications.  Experience must include progressively more responsible positions in the areas of product leadership, operational excellence and total customer satisfaction. Preference for having min 5 Years of experience as people & production Manager. Hands on Experience in fiber optics cable termination as well as copper jumper assembly process is preferred.
