Internal Audit - Forensic Information Technology Intern

Position Overview: The Internal Audit Intern position will support pillars within the Internal Audit department itself as well as various departments within the organization. This includes supporting the organization with data-driven insights, enhancing decision-making and operational efficiency across the company. The ideal candidate will have a background in either accounting, information technology, data analytics or a combination of these fields. The projects to support the team include performing ITGC / Cybersecurity audit procedures, development of dashboards for reporting purposes and performing analytical procedures to support the audit function.

 

 

The Internal Audit Intern position will support pillars within the Internal Audit department itself as well as various departments within the organization. This internship is a unique opportunity to contribute to the company by providing data-driven insights that enhance decision-making and improve operational efficiency. We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in accounting, information technology, data analytics, or a blend of these fields and the activities to support the internal audit department includes but not limited to the following:

• Actively support the organization by delivering insightful data analysis to aid strategic and operational decisions.
• Collaborate with the audit team to conduct IT General Controls (ITGC) and cybersecurity audit procedures, ensuring robust information security practices.
• Develop and deploy comprehensive dashboards for reporting, providing clear visibility into key performance indicators.
• Execute detailed analytical procedures to bolster the auditing function, enhancing accuracy and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards to report on key performance metrics.
• Assist in the data preparation and cleansing process to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
• Utilize SQL for querying data from various databases and data warehouses.
• Implement analytics solutions using Python for data analysis and automation tasks.
• Support the Accounting Department and IT teams by providing data analytics assistance.
• Participate in projects that involve statistical analysis, trend analysis, and predictive modeling.

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with SQL for database querying and data manipulation.
• Proficiency in Python for coding and automation tasks.
• Solid experience in developing and managing Power BI dashboards.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present data insights clearly.
• Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with other programming languages and data analytics tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of data visualization best practices.
• Understanding of business processes within a manufacturing or technology environment.
