Director of Residences

An executive couple is seeking a hands-on and experienced Director of Residences to oversee the seamless operation of their homes. This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled individual who thrives in a service-driven environment and enjoys working side-by-side with the principal.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the family’s primary residence in Westchester, NY, and additional residences in other domestic locations
• Ensure residences are beautifully maintained and systems run at optimal levels
• Take a hands-on approach
• Lead and develop a team the household staff fostering a service-mentality
• Proactively manage preventative maintenance, special projects, and renovations with an emphasis on quality and efficiency
• Coordinate the schedule of preventative maintenance
• Ensure that all properties are always prepared and welcoming for the family and their guests, anticipating their needs
• Manage capital and operating expenses in collaboration with the family office team.

 

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience with verifiable references.
• Curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning, ideally supported by a bachelor’s degree.
• Service-oriented mindset.
• Proven ability to handle multiple responsibilities and manage complex operations with impeccable attention to detail.
• Discreet, mature, and able to maintain grace under pressure.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Tech-savvy and able to quickly adapt to new systems and tools.
• Knowledge of home maintenance, residential systems, hospitality standards, and the nuances of managing a fine home.
• Flexibility to travel
• Willing to take on tasks beyond the job description as needed.
• Must be legally able to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license.

 

 

Schedule:
Generally, Monday through Friday daytime hours with flexibility for extended hours, weekends, and holidays, depending on the family’s needs. This role requires a 24/7 mindset.

 

Compensation:
Base compensation range of $250,000 - $350,000 commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included (medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO, paid holidays, annual discretionary bonus). Relocation offered to the right candidate.
