HR/EHS Intern
Summary
The HR/EHS Intern provides compliance and administrative support to the HR & EHS Teams. The position provides hands-on experience in an exciting fast-paced manufacturing environment. Qualified candidates should be able to work 40 hours a week, on-site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create a searchable, shared database of answers to common questions in supplier questionnaires on topics including corporate social governance, environmental compliance, employee rights and safety, and HR policies
- Review existing job description database, obtain updated descriptions incorporating new information such as physical and data access requirements, archive obsolete/unused job descriptions
- Plan and coordinate annual wellness fair to promote employee engagement
- Review and update evacuation route maps and post as needed
- Participate in waste, stormwater, and safety compliance inspections on a weekly or monthly basis
- Schedule annual visual acuity testing for approximately 55 employees
- Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews
- Assist with day-to-day operations and provide clerical and administrative support to the HR and EHS departments
Job Requirements
- Graduate of or current enrollee in university undergraduate program. Environmental Science, Psychology, or Business majors preferred.
- Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information
- Strong customer service skills
- Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organization and planning skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
- Ability to share knowledge and work in a strong team-oriented environment
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
