Supply Chain Intern
Summary
The Supply Chain Intern will assist the supply chain team with projects and continuous improvement initiatives, as well as daily buying activities. The position provides hands-on experience in the Electronics Manufacturing environment including local supplier site visits. Qualified candidates should be able to work 40 hours a week, on-site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct SWOT analysis of 30-40 Critical Suppliers; create reference matrix based on SWOT analysis to be used by current and new supply chain team members in daily and long-term strategic buy decisions
- Become a buyer for the term of the internship, responsible for 2-3 critical suppliers, using daily MRP to place orders with suppliers.
- Prepare and execute survey by email, on-site visits (local suppliers only) and/or phone calls to all 30-40 critical suppliers; identify which suppliers identify as a subcategory of the classification of small-disadvantaged businesses.
- Attend all local supplier audits, provide review of visit and key take aways.
- Review Safety Stock levels of all purchased items.
- Attend all meetings that purchasing is a part of internally and with suppliers that come on site; track any requests/projects that are a result of those meetings.
- Various tasks as delegated by Supply Chain Manager and Strategic Sourcing Manager.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in College or University program, majoring or a focus in engineering, supply chain, or business administration.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Extremely well organized with superior attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work in a high pace environment and meet deadlines.
