Cable Design Engineering Intern
Summary
The Cable Design Engineering Intern assists the Cable Design Engineering and Engineering Services teams with new cable designs, existing cable and material evaluations, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital justifications. The position provides hands-on engineering experience in an exciting Electronics Manufacturing environment. This is a full-time, on-site internship for the summer of 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Help develop a new standard process of evaluation to drive consistent and quality product
- Develop and executes trials to validate design assumptions and optimize product performance
- Perform testing on a multitude of cable products for general product validation
- Assist with troubleshooting production issues and recommend solutions for design
- Help develop, improve, and revise product designs, bills of material, work instructions and routings
- Support purchasing, quality, test, and production departments to ensure product integrity is maintained
- Assist with preparing cost justification studies and ROI for capital equipment & software
- Work on other projects as assigned by the Manager
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduate of or currently enrolled in College or University Engineering Program
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred
- General experience with materials characterization methods (i.e., microscopy)
- Willingness to be hands-on with manufacturing equipment
- Eager to learn, self-starter
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work in a high pace environment and meet deadlines
