Lakefield Veterinary Group is looking for a CTO responsible for leading our technology team, our technology strategies, and digital evolution. This person will work closely with corporate and field leadership to help manage and drive the growth of the business through technology. The successful candidate will be a builder with a growth mindset, helping to drive organic and inorganic tech driven growth initiatives at Lakefield.
Job Type: Full time salaried exempt
Compensation: $250,000 to $275,000
Reports To: CFO
Location: Kent, WA area is preferred 
Key Responsibilities:
The CTO is responsible for overseeing all technology-related activities within our veterinary hospital network. This executive-level position develops and implements comprehensive technology strategies to improve patient care, operational efficiency, and innovation across our facilities.
Technology Strategy and Implementation:
• Develop and execute a long-term technology strategy and implementation roadmap aligned with the company's goals and vision.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance veterinary care, operational efficiency, procurement, marketing support, HR solutions, finance and business intelligence systems, as well as other needs of the business.
• Oversee the integration of electronic health records (EHRs) and practice management software across all hospital locations.

Infrastructure and Security:
• Ensure robust IT infrastructure to support 24/7 hospital operations and emergency services.
• Implement and maintain data protection and cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive patient and business information.
Research, Innovation, and Operational Efficiency:
• Lead the digital evolution/transformation of Lakefield by driving automation and efficiencies throughout the organization.
• Stay current with emerging business and veterinary technologies as well as industry trends.
• Collaborate with veterinary professionals to identify and support areas where technology can improve animal care and hospital efficiency.
• Work with corporate departments to identify, evaluate, install, and optimize technologies that will drive growth and streamline/scale administrative activities.
• Develop analytics and reporting tools to provide insights into hospital performance and patient care metrics.
Team Leadership:
• Lead and own technology driven projections throughout the organization.
• Manage and mentor a largely remote IT staff, fostering a culture of technological innovation and excellence.
• Collaborate with other department heads to align technology initiatives with business objectives.
Compliance and Standards:
• Ensure all technology systems comply with veterinary industry regulations and standards.
• Establish and maintain IT policies and procedures specific to veterinary practice needs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with at least 3 years in multi-unit, healthcare, or veterinary settings.
• Strong understanding of POS/PMS systems.
• Proven track record of successful technology strategy implementation and team leadership.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
