Dessert Holdings is looking for a Process Lead (part of a line-centric leadership team) at our dessert manufacturing facility in Humble, TX.
The Process Lead provides safety and servant-based leadership to achieve breakthrough production results on a specific production line/area. The Process Lead works with the Line Centric Team to drive out top losses across a 24-hour production line/area, specifically through ownership of data integrity and process centerlines. This position leverages the process discipline of continuous improvement tools. The Process Lead supports the Operation Line Leader who is ultimately accountable for building technical capability for the assigned operating teams, particularly through mastery of process control. The Process Lead will also be responsible for learning other team members' positions/responsibilities and must be able to fill their roles (Maintenance Lead or Operations Line Leader) in an absence. The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for all our products.
The Day-to-Day
- Builds capability of the line team to understand losses through data.
- Identifies and addresses safety risks related to top stops (equipment interaction) and changeover activities.
- Leads identification of centerline targets, documentation of standards, and coaches the line team and technicians through the execution, problem solving, and change management.
- Ensures line/system is meeting product attributes and process parameters that drive them.
- Supports development and leads execution of the 90-Day improvement plan to deliver the glidepath through loss elimination.
- Owns the Centerline Process and library for all equipment within the PCL team, and is responsible for coaching and developing operators in the use of centerlines within the team.
- Applies advanced data analysis tools to expose and eliminate losses.
- In changeovers, leads closing the gap against specific metrics (Human and Food Safety, MTBF, overuse, etc.), timeliness, and changeover success.
- Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).
What You Bring to the Team
- Bachelor's degree preferred, strong preference for Engineering degrees
- At least 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule.
- Must be willing to work overtime including weekends if necessary.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic PC skills
Preferred
- Working Knowledge of Ovens, bakery equipment, and packaging equipment.
- Bilingual and can read, write, and speak English/Spanish.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
- Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel or bend.
- Employee must lift up to 75 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if limit is exceeded.
