We are now hiring a Product Engineer located in Hai Phong, Vietnam, this role is responsible for leading and assisting with various technical activities in support of the manufacture of ICN products. This role requires good communication skills, teamwork, as well as close collaboration with our contract manufacturer, CommScope global operations and global engineering teams.

 

How You'll Help Us Connect the World:

• Definition of manufacturing processes taking into account the test requirements in collaboration with the cross-functional product development teams

• Local factory contact person for R&D and NPI Product Engineers in the early stages of development regarding critical aspects of the manufacturing process development phase

• Participation in R&D DFM/A (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly/Repair) reviews suggesting and identifying possible product optimizations for development

• Review of development prototypes and derivation of recommendations during DRR (Design for Readiness)

• Regular status reports to the project team (both written and oral (English))

• Planning and coordination of the product launch and pilot run at the production site

• Introduction of manufacturing processes on site including setup, commissioning and training

• Independently leads troubleshooting activities within the production branch

• Provision of manufacturing data, e.g. drawings, videos, troubleshooting guides and creation of the necessary documentation for setup, commissioning and troubleshooting

• Manufacturing process analysis, evaluation, improvement and recommendations regarding quality, manufacturability and cost reduction, as well as reduction of delivery times

• Review and acceptance of production layouts and processes

• Support with manufacturing problems and monitoring of the manufacturing process

• Automation of product tests with the automation tool

• Creation of FAE (First Article Evaluation) for contract manufacturers as part of quality assurance during product launches

 

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in Electronics or related discipline
  • Several years of experience in handling RF measuring devices and in test automation
  • Broad base knowledge in electronics (RF, digital, analog)
  • Skilled at assembling complex electo-mechanical systems according preliminary drawings.
  • Special knowledge and practical experience of one or more modules (RF amplifiers, duplexers, digital submodules, analog RF)
  • Experience in the area of ??contract manufacturing is desirable
  • Strong teamwork skills, assertiveness and proactive communication skills
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English as well as the native Vietnamese language
  • Must reside in local Hai Phong, Vietnam area so that daily commutes to Contract Manufacturer are possible.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (Europe, Asia, South-East Asia, North America)

 

You Will Excite Us if You Have

  • Good understanding of electronics – focus on RF
  • Experience working in contract manufacturing model
  • Basic knowledge of SAP ERP System
  • Basic understanding in Quality analysis and/or formal training in LEAN and Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt training a plus)
  • Experience in test software automation
  • Experience in automated test result evaluation and analysis (Mintab, SQL, other)
