Operations Coordinator

Located in Mississauga, ON, Republic Packaging of Canada is one of Chicago-based Republic Packaging Corp.'s eight North American operating locations. As a 60 year-old provider of cushion packaging we are known for outstanding design, quality and customer service. In addition, we have a sister company, Impacte, which provides warehouse management services and can complement our packaging products or be a stand-alone service to provide solutions to our customers' problems.

We are actively working to grow our sales by 50% over the next 3 years and enter new markets with our Impacte service offering. We are seeking an insightful Operations professional to join the team at our ISO certified facility and support related efforts. The Operations Coordinator will learn internal processes and manufacturing through formal training for and acting as the site Quoter. This role will work with Production, Sales, Engineering and also support some procurement functions with a growth path to becoming the Site Operations Manager.

Role responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering and Production to develop accurate cost estimates and pricing that meets company parameters
• Leverage analytical skills to drive achievable but aggressive productivity rates
• Understand supplier cost models and promote optimal buying strategies
• Learn Production flow, processes, equipment and labor planning
• Using gained knowledge, support Customer Service and Sales when customer needs are outside of established processes
• Support Buying activities and act as a back-up to the site Buyer
• Maintain a prospective supplier database and source materials as needed
• Participate in and occasionally lead projects as assigned by (and supported by) the Director of Operations

What you bring:

• 4 year degree in Business, Finance or Engineering
• 5 years of manufacturing or estimating experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to conceptualize in three dimensions
• Strong experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
• Ability to assimilate and present data concisely
