Bench Optician – Must be able to cut, grind, block, coat and polish lenses/eyeglasses or other precision optical elements. Assemble and mount lenses into frames or process other optical elements. Ability to operate and perform maintenance duties of basic ophthalmic machinery such as lens polisher or grinder, blocker, coater, edger, lensometer, and other equipment. Must be able to read prescription specifications. Make any necessary repairs or adjustments to frames. Minimum two years experience preferred but will train the right candidate.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office environment and laboratory setting. Involves frequent contact with staff and patients.
