For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has specialized in connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full-time and part-time job opportunities that support the critical missions of Federal Agencies across the United States.

NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). These experienced professionals provide administrative, scientific, technical, and other professional skills that support to the Bureau of Land Management through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).

This position supports the Bureau of Land Management Winnemucca District Office (Humboldt River Field Office).

Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 1,040 hours. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an ?at-will? relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

PLEASE NOTE: An ?Enrollee? is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An ?Enrollee? is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Geology with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in Mining Law/Geology

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS SharePoint, ARCVIEW (GIS), MS Teams, MS PowerPoint
Duties:

Review technical documents, e.g., waste rock characterization, geochemical reports, seismic studies, slope stability, etc. Act as a mentor providing experience to and assisting new geologists. Review Plan of Operations in accordance with 43 CFR 3809. Assist public (visitors, operators, claimants) with mineral, geology, or procedural questions. Help fill out paperwork and provide assistance in filing and other administrative tasks tied to the offices mission.
