Data Visualization Analyst

The Data Visualization Analyst will use SQL query techniques to review and revise existing reports and dashboards finding compelling ways to improve the presentation of information helping the organization make important business decisions. This motivated individual will use our existing toolset while implementing a new generation of tools. They will assist the IT team in supporting enterprise software applications used to run our business.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, modify, and maintain reports and dashboards using current tools (Crystal Reports).
  • Utilize Power BI to migrate existing reports to new dashboards and visualizations.
  • Follow best practices in regard to data integrity and coding.
  • Promptly respond to user service requests related to reporting and dashboards via email and phone calls.
  • Provide updates, status, and completion information to management.
  • Assist with ERP administration and support customizations and other improvements.
  • Perform minor maintenance/development of internal website(s).
  • Develop simple web-based applications/tools using JavaScript or asp.net programming.
  • Develop skills in reporting, data analytics and visualization.
  • Assist the organization in its move to Microsoft cloud technologies including Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint.
  • Practice pitching solutions to management and business users.
  • This will be a hybrid position.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Requirements:

  • AS or BS degree in Information Management, Business Intelligence, Computer Science or related degree/specialization.
  • 1-2 years of experience preferred but recent graduates will be considered.
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases.
  • Working knowledge of data structures and database design.
  • Experience with reporting and dashboard tools such as Crystal Reports, Power BI etc.
  • Intermediate level web development skills (HTML, JavaScript).
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud Environment (O365, Power BI, Automate, SharePoint desirable.
  • Experience in manufacturing a plus!
  • Collaborative and team-oriented outlook, willing to pitch in where needed and comfortable asking questions.
  • Strong customer service attitude. Willing to meet with users regularly to determine needs and develop solutions.
  • Technologically savvy with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed, demonstrated ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
