Senior Network Engineer Level 3

JOB DETAILS:

While we prefer local candidates, this position can be remote. This is a Monday through Friday engineering role supporting various client sites in the Greater Boston area.

COMPENSATION:

Base salary in the 120-140 range commensurate with experience, quarterly profit sharing and bonus plan, mileage reimbursement, cell/data reimbursement.

What You'll Do:

  • Support our customers with great Customer Service, resolving mostly high-level support incidents
  • Identify opportunities and areas of improvement while interacting with clients 
  • Work with clients to suggest technical solutions that meet their business needs  
  • Work on new installs, migrations, troubleshooting, and projects
  • Interface with third party vendors and act as the liaison for the client
  • Update internal and client documentation as needed and create and maintain comprehensive documentation of client environments
  • Responsible for detailed time tracking of work and client interactions
  • Participate in Teambuilding, Knowledge / Experience sharing and regular feedback and process improvement initiatives 
  • Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 and 2 engineer support issues
  • Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours / weekend projects and troubleshooting as needed
  • Stay on top of new technology and industry trends

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 10 plus years of equivalent working experience
  • 10+ years' experience in an IT Engineering support/Network/Consultant role, preferably at an MSP, but not required
  • You are a team player that can live by the NENS core values

  • Reliable transportation required and the ability to walk/stand for 8+ hours a day

Technical Knowledge & Experience:

  • Advanced experience implementing, configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, network monitoring and other network devices
  • Experience implementing, configuring and maintaining Palo Alto's, FortiGate, & Meraki Firewalls, including HA pairs, VLANs, ACL's, Site to Site Tunnels, VPN's
  • Advanced Cloud experience architecting, administering, and troubleshooting of Azure and M365
  • Experience in multiple areas of the Microsoft O365 suite, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Purview
  • SharePoint migration experience is a must have skill
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft server (AD, DNS, DHCP, NPS) and workstation technologies
  • Experience in server virtualization technologies
  • Experience with security technologies and incident response
  • Experience with Disaster Recovery (plan creation, tabletop exercises and implementation)
  • Experience with SSO and MFA, Okta preferred
  • Demonstrated history of delivering exceptional customer service, consistently adding value and expertise to clients
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated experience with backup and recovery solutions
  • Demonstrated experience with storage technologies
  • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell)
  • Humility and ability to escalate issues where there is no clear path to resolution
  • Certifications in the following technologies are a nice plus: Microsoft Azure, M365, Cisco/Meraki, VMware, Palo Alto, Okta
