Systems Administrator - UKG
SCI Summary: SCI supports people with disabilities, behavioral challenges, medically complex needs, transitioning youth, the elderly, and other populations using Maryland Department of Health's Targeted Case Management and Supports Planning work models as well as a concierge level geriatric care management and care partner model.
Position Summary: The UKG Systems Administrator position, within the Enterprise Systems and Technology Department, will technically manage the UKG Enterprise Solution suite which includes UKG WFM, UKG PRO, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management. This role will oversee the UKG production and test environments, will lead Release Management tasks to configure, test and promote new application enhancements and feature updates to the platform, and will work in partnership with various cross functional areas to ensure end-to-end system reliability for the organization. Reporting to the Enterprise Application Systems Manager, the IT Systems Administrator for UKG will be responsible for any technical issues and will partner with other technical team members related to data integrations and security management.

Essential Duties:
- Responsible for configuration, testing and technical systems administration for all end-to-end functional components within UKG PRO, WFM, Dimensions, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management as integration within enterprise platform and external data integrations
- Follows configuration control and release management standards within IT industry and UKG best practices through full life-cycle UKG platform IT projects including Requirements, Analysis, Design, System Configuration, Testing, Documentation, Training, Go-live and Support.
- Maintains strong content expertise in Time & Attendance, Payroll Processing, HRIS, Compensation, Leave & Benefit Plan Administration & Reporting ensuring successful and sustainable service execution for Team Members
- System Configuration: Customize, configure, test and deploy UKG application features, roles and interfaces according to documented requirements to align with organizational workflows and policies. Configure and audit security roles and permissions to ensure proper access control and HIPAA Compliance.
- Data Maintenance and Integrity: Ensuring data reliability, accuracy, retention and compatibility within UKG interrelated components and between UKG and interrelated enterprise application systems.
- Testing: Participate in the development and execution of test plans to validate system configurations. Conduct unit, integration, and regression tests with system changes. Collaborate with HR and Payroll departments to perform end-to-end testing within the UKG system.
- Release Management: Oversee the rollout of new features, releases and updates, ensuring quality, training and acceptance testing prior to release minimal disruption to users. Coordinate with the vendor for major UKG system upgrades or patches. Test environment management of data refresh and configuration control. Monitor the system post-implementation to ensure stability and performance.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support for UKG applications, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing system performance. Ensure data integrity through accurate data entry, migration, and regular backups. Implement cybersecurity measures to maintain system integrity and security. Establish and enforce IT policies related to the UKG system. Ensure compliance with IT standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with HR, Payroll, Programs and other stakeholders to ensure UKG Systems align with business needs, process and data interrelationships. Detail oriented with strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills that can assist with identifying process gaps, recommend alternatives and bring to resolution during root cause analysis.
- Uses measurements, metrics and data analysis to demonstrate and monitor impact, insights, quality and solution effectiveness.
- Develops knowledge of SCI business practices and applies relevant Industry experience to advance SCI Strategic Plan Goals.
- Supports Enterprise Project Management departmental goal of reliable service delivery through standardization, collaboration and optimization of processes and operations.
Supervisory Duties:
Education Required:
- BS/BA in Information Systems, related field required or 6 years related/similar industry experience.
Experience Required:
- UKG or Ultimate Software System Administration experience min 3 years required
- Experience with Kronos; ICIMS, SuccessFactors, Cornerstone or any similar Time & Attendance, Talent Acquisition or Talent Management Systems preferred.
- Working knowledge of HRIS, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Recruiting, Onboarding required
- Proficiency with requirements management tools e.g. Visio/Lucid, JIRA, Project Management
- Proficiency with Cognos, SQL, APIs, Qliksense, Tableau or Power BI (Preferred)

Physical Demands: Generally, presents standard office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position >95% of the time. Continually operates a computer, keyboard and mouse, and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, and mobile Smartphone device. Constantly positions self to comfortably maintain computer equipment. May occasionally be required to move about in an office setting or position office equipment weighing between 10-25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. The person in this position frequently communicates with other people. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
IT Roles must be able to position self to maintain computers and equipment, including under desks and in server room(s). Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
