Reports To: Branch Operations Manager Officer
Status: Non-Officer
 
Position Summary:
The Universal Banker/Loan Assistant will assist bank customers using their detailed knowledge on all aspects of retail banking. Excellent customer service skills are required when opening new accounts. Knowledge and understanding of digital banking solutions are required. Product knowledge and cross-selling are also required. This position also supports the loan department in the Eden Prairie office in performing various duties and special projects related to new and existing loan customers.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Universal Banker - General:
Promote the bank culture, mission and vision statements by maintaining positive working relationships with bank staff, customers, and guests.
Greet and assist customers in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner in person, by phone or by email.
Open new accounts and close accounts.
Build customer relationships with the bank by cross-selling appropriate products. 
Maintain cash drawer and established limits, balance daily, and provide support to the teller line whenever needed.
Maintain daily office cash limit.
Process and balance coin through the coin machine; bag coins for shipment.
Navigate various financial/banking software to accurately process transactions.
Assist customers with digital banking questions, act as backup to digital banking.
Attend and participate in ongoing trainings to stay up to date with banking trends.
Clerical tasks including word processing, filing, answering telephones and operating office equipment.
Processing and maintenance of records, data collection, reports, and special projects.
Conduct monthly audit collections and submit to compliance or internal audit department.
Act as backup for vault duties, Federal Reserve Bank shipment, and retail reporting for the Branch Manager and/or Internal Auditor.
 
Loan Assistant – General:
Performs all related duties to support the Loan Department in the management of customer loans/leases.
As needed, run credit reports, pull flood determinations, order appraisals and title work, and conduct account research.
Assists lending officers in the preparation of pre-funding worksheets, HMDA data collection, loan/lease documentation checklists and any the use of any outside resources such as the Military Lending Account, and Geocoding, etc. that is necessary to properly submit a loan/lease package to the Loan Processing department.
Prepares appropriate loan/lease disbursement entries (cashiers checks, deposit, wire transfer, etc.) on signing date and according to loan disbursement instructions provided by Lender.
Remit payments to third party vendors including appraisers, insurance companies, and title insurance companies.
Responsible for collateral perfection including recording mortgages, UCCs, CNS filings, titled units, etc.  
Monitors and maintains customer loan/lease files.
Monitors and maintains the loan tickler system. The tickler system is used to track and ensure customer financial information is current and all loan collateral is secured. Items tracked include but is not limited to: mortgages; title policies; UCCs; lien cards; collateral insurance; customer financial statements; etc.   
Doc imaging of complete loan/lease files.
Processing of loan/lease payoff requests, payoffs, and payments.
Monitor loan payoff report and ensure all necessary steps are completed to close out the loan.  Release any loan collateral at the direction of the lender responsible for that account relationship.
Prepares routine letters, reports, and forms.
Provides support to all areas of the office where service or assistance is needed.
Provides excellent customer service in regards to customer deposit account balances, loan balances, and payoff requests.
Maintains adequate supplies in loan support area: fills copiers, fax and printers with paper and ink as needed; and monitors customer access areas and bank lobby to ensure relevance and timeliness of marketing materials and publications.
 
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows and Web.
Ability to operate a 10-key calculator, and other office equipment.
Must have strong inter-personal skills and a professional personal brand.
Perform duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process.
Self-motivation. 
Must be able to navigate through the website/mobile app.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED; Associates of Arts or Science (2 year degree)
 
Experience:
Banking experience with a retail and loan support operations background is preferred.
 
Working Conditions:
Well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor office setting with adequate ventilation and moderate noise level, only occasionally requiring exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Primarily sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature often requiring sitting, talking, and listening.
Manual dexterity sufficient to work with the fingers.
May occasionally be required to lift and/or carry over 10 pounds.
