The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative/Office support for individuals age 55 and over and per EPA Policy applicants must be US Citizen to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. The EPA provides a wonderful work atmosphere, and you'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Must be a United States Citizen and live within a commutable distance to the Fort Meade, MD location.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Laboratory settings OR BA/BS Degree in Chemistry and mathematics

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS OneDrive, Adobe, Fax, Copying Machine, Multiple Phone Lines, Scanner
Duties:

Provide laboratory support and customer service in the daily operation of the US EPA National Pesticide Standard Repository (NPSR).

  • Retrieve, weigh pesticide analytical standards and prepare all necessary documentation for shipment. Prepare packaging and shipping of standards. Check shipment for accuracy, including verification of chemicals ordered (quantity and type).   60%
  • Perform data entry of customer orders and inventory of new and replacement of chemicals in the NPSR database.   25%
  • Perform duties of a customer service representative. This includes answering/responding to phone calls and emails from customers, contacting customers with questions, proposing alternative sources for their orders, when needed   10%
  • Recommend and implement ways to improve turn-around time for retrieving and filling orders to meet Agency?s goals   5%

  • Mandatory laboratory safety training
