Shift/Hours: Rotating 6am-2pm/11am-7pm
Pay Rate = $22.00 - $26.00 p/h
Education/Experience/Personal Requirements:
- Commercial cooking experience preferred or domestic cooking experience with large groups.
- Enjoy working with older adults.
- Certificate in food-preparation training preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have valid Food Handlers Serve Safe Certification
Responsibilities
- Alters or adapts recipes to accommodate special dietary needs of residents or to improve recipes. Recipes should be prepared with little or no added sodium (salt).
- Maintains a written inventory of dry goods, refrigerated and frozen foods, non-food supplies, dishes and utensils.
- Prepares meats for storage and portion control upon delivery; ensures proper storage of all delivered foods and ingredients.
- Maintains a clean, orderly and safe kitchen environment.
- Ensures proper handling, labeling and storage of food for infection control.
- Ensures compliance with regulations.
- Monitors portion control to meet resident' requests and minimizes waste.
- Ensures attractive presentation of food on the plate before serving.
- Notify Manager of malfunction of equipment or appliances.
- Carries out other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Follows emergency operations plans and properly in the usage of firefighting equipment and ensures resident evacuation of the building.
- Prepares food daily as outlined on the weekly menu plan.
- Assists with menu planning; review and adjust menus with supervisor to accommodate foods in season, vendor sale prices, special events and holiday.
- Must adhere to all Human Resources and facility policy and procedures.
- Follows established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policy and procedure when performing daily tasks.
