Qualifications:Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in community planning and/or landscape architecture, recreation planning, project management, and public engagement. OR MA/MS Degree in Urban, regional, community planning and or landscape architecture focused on conservation and outdoor recreation. - In-depth knowledge of business organization practices, information distribution and demonstrates high levels of communication. Basic knowledge of outdoor recreation or community planning and design with experience in program management and administration. Must have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Needs to be able to work independently and in teams. Must be able to exercise considerable independence, judgment, and initiative; receive general administrative direction.
- Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
- general software for video conferencing; Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, GIS, preferred but not required.)
Duties:Provide research and organizational support to Land and Water Conservation Fund/Rivers Trails Conservation Assistance Program/Federal Lands to Parks Program learning and development team including identifying and mapping resources, supporting the development of training modules, and supporting the delivery and logistics of training modules. Also supports intergovernmental/interagency collaboration training program development, working toward foundational educational program for state and local government staff. - Support the development and delivery of new LWCF/RTCA cross-division curriculum including, but not limited to: cross-division familiarization and collaboration curriculum, LWCF new staff onboarding and program-specific skills development curriculum, NPS Community Assistance Academy curriculum, and the Emerging Leaders program. Work includes background research, identifying best-practices for instructional development, supporting instructional design, and program delivery support (logistics/instruction). 70%
- Provides technical assistance and advice to local governments and non-profit partners regarding planning and training needs related to LWCF/RTCA/FLP projects. Provides assistance to local and regional planning officials and their staff regarding policies, procedures, planning, and training needs. 30%
Other:- Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits to projects may be required
- Overnight travel: May require overnight travel 2-3 times per year depending on residence of enrollee
- Air travel anticipated: 1-2 per year
- Rental cars: Enrollee may choose to use rental car or personal vehicle 3-8 days per month
- Physical requirements: Enrollee should be able to walk short distances of up to a mile along unimproved surfaces.
