Rehabilitative Day Program Coordinator
This positions supervises the Rehabilitative Day Program.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Conduct initial interview to determine appropriateness for services.
Assume case responsibility of designated consumers receiving Rehab Day Program services.
Recruit, train, and supervise staff, interns, volunteers, and consumers.
Supervise the daily operation of the RDP Rehab Day Program including maintenance and activities.
Generate and maintain all required documentation to meet Alabama Department of Mental Health and Carastar Health standards, adequately reflecting services provided.
Promote ongoing communication and coordination of services among family members, significant others, rehabilitation, and treatment staff to identify, develop and maintain credible supports.
Foster consumer driven services at all levels of the Rehab Day Program.
Direct rehabilitation activities for consumers including interventions, development, and execution of day program.
Assist consumers in learning skills and in demonstrating behaviors which promote recovery.
Provide and coordinate services to promote recovery to include transportation and social services assistance.
Participate in training and workshop activities as needed and as required to enhance skills.
Ensure all Day Treatment Program operations, facilities, and clinical records meet the standards of the ADMH Administrative Code, Medicaid regulations, Life Safety regulations, and all other applicable standards and codes.
Responsible for ensuring program staff are current with required training.
Responsible for overseeing program staff's time and productivity.
Responsible for program operating within a defined budget.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of the rehabilitative day treatment process.
Knowledge of individual and group behavior with special emphasis on problems of persons with serious mental illness.
Ability to establish and to maintain rapport with consumers.
Ability to serve as a good role model.
Good verbal and written skills.
Ability to relate well with diverse groups and individuals.
Skill in coordinating a variety of activities.
Good supervisory and management skills.
Willingness to perform a variety of job tasks.
Willingness to complete required training.
Willingness to work flexible hours.
Reliable transportation and willingness to transport clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Psychology, Social Work, or related fields, plus one year post-degree experience in a mental health or direct care setting.
Some supervisory experience preferred.
Must hold a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to Carastar's insurance carrier.
Must maintain at least liability coverage on personal vehicles.
