POSITION SUMMARY:  The Captain of Technical Services is a pivotal member of the City of Branson Fire Department, responsible for conducting technical and specialized fire code inspections, delivering fire-safety education programs, and determining the causes of fire incidents. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, communication skills, and adaptability to perform a wide range of duties within the Fire-Rescue Service. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Division Chief-Technical Services or designated authority.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:  The starting hourly wage is $25.91 per hour and will increase to $26.95 per hour after 6 months of successful probation.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. 
• At least four (4) years of full-time experience with a municipal fire department or fire district is required.
• Current certification by the Missouri Division of Fire Safety or International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) in the following: Firefighter I & II, and NIMS 100, 200, 300, 700 and 800, Fire Inspector I or II, Fire Officer I or II, and Fire Investigator is required.
• Must possess or obtain Fire Instructor I & Fire Investigator within one (1) year of start date. 
• Must possess or obtain certification as a Medical First Responder within six (6) months of hire date. 
 
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• Certification as a Missouri Emergency Medical Technician is preferred.
 
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Vision must be correctable to 20/40; must pass the Ishihara color vision test and/or be able to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing red, green and amber; and must meet established hearing standards as outlined in NFPA 1582.
• Must possess no felony convictions relating to arson, fraud, extortion, or other crimes relating to the construct of the position.
• Must possess no felony convictions at any time while employed by the City of Branson.
• Must be highly engaged in the department's goals, and be able to work cooperatively with City of Branson leadership in achieving those goals.
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service to the department's internal or external customers. 
• Must possess a high degree of integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 
• Must possess strong analytical and logical problem solving skills, strong interpersonal communication and relational skills, good organizational and project management skills, sound judgment, initiative, flexibility, and be detail-oriented.  
• Must possess a valid driver's license and must be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position. 
• Tattoos, Scarification, Body Art, and Body Modifications must meet City of Branson Employee Appearance at Work policy.
• Must act safely and follow safety standards while at work.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings, as well as post-offer medical evaluation and annual physical examination.
