Avionics Technician II - Flight Support

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a member of Epic Flight Support, the responsibilities of the Avionics Technician II will include repairing, modifying, installing, troubleshooting, and performing routine maintenance of all avionics systems with accuracy and minimal assistance. The technician will need to interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, drawings, engineering orders and other documents as well as oversee the assembly of wire harnesses. Other expectations include:

  • Fabricate, upgrade, and route wire harnesses according to Engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform avionics installations and set up
  • Disassemble, assemble and adjust electronic equipment  
  • Perform system-specific software loading
  • Properly use avionics hand tools 
  • Take immediate corrective action regarding unsafe conditions
  • Utilize hand tools and computer-based job processing system to complete work
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues at bench assembly and on the aircraft
  • Creation and vetting of basic wiring schematics to help engineering and production
  • Interface with Engineering personnel and provide solutions
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Minimum three years experience in aircraft electrical systems
  • Experience with Garmin Avionics Systems
  • Experience with harness-making and or modification
  • Knowledge of other aircraft systems such as hydraulics, flight controls, and major components is helpful
  • Knowledge of avionics tooling
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Proficient with using hand tools  
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to follow CAD drawings & electrical schematics
  • A teachable attitude with a willingness to help any person on the team with any task
  • Must be Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future

Desirable:

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate preferred but not required
  • Associate or higher college degree or certification preferred but not required
