Housekeeper

Our Manalapan clients are hiring a Housekeeper to join their growing team.

The right candidate has hospitality/service experience and can mix and pour a drink and serve at the table. You must have a keen eye for detail.

This is a full-time, year-round role.

 

Responsibilities:

• Working with the team, assume responsibility for the general and specialty cleaning of the residence. Note any issues and bring them to the Estate Manager's attention.
• Ensure daily tasks are performed, tend to the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms first thing each day.
• Provide informed care of specialty materials and surfaces (e.g., antiques, artwork, marble, brass, china, crystal, silver, and fine linens, etc.)
• Care for all household laundry; perform handwashing, ironing, pressing, and steaming of garments and linens. Help maintain a dry-cleaning log.
• Follow the plan for deep cleaning and organizational projects when the family is traveling.
• Assist with serving and cleaning up for dinner parties and other events.
• Keep and care for fresh flowers in the residence.
• Communicate effectively with the Estate Manager and other team members.
• Run errands and assist with pet care as requested.

 

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a similar position in a yacht, private home, or luxury hotel property with a desire to offer five-star service.
• Professional demeanor and appearance with a positive, pleasant personality.
• A willingness to learn and accept constructive feedback.
• Excellent cleaning skills and attention to detail.
• Great attitude - works well as part of a team.
• Discreet and respectful of the family's desire for privacy.
• Great communication skills (English).

 

Schedule

Generally, Wednesday to Sunday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm with the flexibility to work additional hours as needed. When the principals are not in residence the schedule can shift to Monday to Friday if the Housekeeper prefers.

 

Salary and Benefits

• Excellent salary of $35-$40/hour depending on experience. Paid overtime.
