? This position supports the Rivers, Trails, & Conservation Assistance office of the National Park Service and may be performed remotely. ? The NPS Experienced Services Program is a unique partnership created to help solve the workforce issues facing government agencies. The program connects experienced workers (age 55+) to the NPS to provide scientific, technical, and administrative support. ? NPS ESP positions are meant to provide temporary, project-based support. This position is currently funded for an estimate of 11 weeks. ? A background security investigation may be required prior to the start date. Only those positions with 30+ hours per week are eligible for health insurance benefits; all positions will accrue sick leave. ? The experienced workers participating in the Program are referred to as ?Enrollees? and are not employees of the NPS or NEW Solutions. NEW Solutions is the ESP non-governmental organization responsible for administrative aspects of the program, and the Enrollees work under NPS direction to assist the Agency staff in carrying out their mission. NPS ESP Enrollees benefit from the opportunity to keep technical skills current; to access new training opportunities; to engage in gainful project-based positions; and to undertake meaningful tasks using their experience and talent to contribute to the environment, the national economy, and their own financial security.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Library sciences or related records planning & management background OR BA/BS Degree in Library science or related

  • Knowledge and familiarity with record management systems and SharePoint.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Adobe Acrobat; MS Teams; Outlook; Sharepoint
Duties:

Coordinate with NPS-RTCA Monitors in implementing a records management system for National Park Service records (and resources) related to the NPS Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance program. This will involve activating a file plan according to NPS RTCA protocols, collecting and populating project folders with key project files coordinating with staff and program manager.

  • Working with the NPS RTCA monitor and RTCA staff, assess progress to date in archival work, current file management needs, set annual goals and priorities and develop a work plan. The workplan should also identify what files are currently available electronically, location of key paper files, which need to be digitized, and which if any will be retained as a hard copy (and where). All records archiving will be consistent with NPS RTCA records management protocols and current best practices.    15%
  • With an archiving work plan in place, collate record and resource files that are available electronically, working across staff. These files will be stored in project folders linked to the CORA SharePoint site.    75%
  • Coordinate with program manager to create strategies for digitizing paper files where no digital files exist.    10%
