The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative/Office support for individuals age 55 and over and per EPA Policy applicants must be US Citizen to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in Information Technology and/or GIS OR BA/BS Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / Geography / Engineering

  • Experience with technical writing, and Geographic Information System
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, MS OneDrive, Fax, Copying Machine
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, OneDrive), Other (Esri ArcGIS Pro, Esri ArcMap, Esri ArcGIS Online, Esri Living Atlas)
Duties:

Provide high level expertise and technical support related to ISP technical writing, new technology research, and documentation. Provide GIS technical support involving location information, geoprocessing tools, image analysis, and cartographic design. Develop and provide expert level software application training to EPA Region 8 user community.

  • Analyze the use of applications, workflows, and office procedures to make recommendations related to new EPA critical technologies and procedures.   30%
  • Create and edit GIS data and maps utilizing automation processes where applicable such as python scripts, python notebooks, arcade, and more.   30%
  • Independent writing of technical documents detailing use of high-end business applications and workflows.   15%
  • Develop and facilitate expert level training on software applications to managers, workgroups, and individual users.   15%
  • Participate in GIS Workgroup community, collaborate and provide support to Region 8 GIS community.   10%
