Dessert Holdings is looking for a Master Production Scheduler to be responsible for production scheduling of the LeCenter, MN facility.  This individual will build a Finished Goods production schedule for the short-term horizon that will support a service level of 98.5%+ while keeping inventory within the parameters set by the company.  The incumbent will closely coordinate with the procurement team to provide visibility for future production; this visibility will allow procurement to bring in materials at the proper time.  The incumbent will also collaborate closely with the inventory management and logistics teams to efficiently move materials in and out of the facility.   The Master Production Scheduler will actively participate in new product launch meetings to provide feedback on openings in the schedule for trials and product launches.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as primary point of contact for the sales, logistics, procurement, and manufacturing departments.
  • Schedule production in a make-to-stock and make-to order environment comparing current orders and forecast with available inventory and following inventory and facility policies.
  • Ensure that schedule is achievable after validating materials with procurement team. 
  • Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 scheduling functionality to create weekly plans for the short horizon.
  • Ensure the raw materials, machines, equipment and labor are ready according to the schedule.
  • Ensure incoming orders, transfer orders, inventory records, open work orders are properly created and closed in the system.
  • Coordinate all aspects of production for all facility’s finished goods, intermediates and materials.
  • Coordinate with the procurement manager to schedule delivery of raw and packaging materials needed for future production.
  • Maintain master distribution schedule for the facility, revising as needed and alerting appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
  • Provide notice when service level agreements might be affected due to material constraints or any other internal or external issues.
  • Coordinate with Logistics for inventory to be shipped to main warehouse after passing post-production quality control.
  • Participate in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing, and other related departments; leads additional planning meetings with sales, production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
  • Develop reports to provide visibility of the inventory levels, production attainment and fill rates issues.
  • Participate in meetings with the R&D and NPI teams to properly schedule trials and first production runs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance and/or relevant certifications (APICS CPIM, CSCP, P. Log etc.)
  • 3+ years of progressive supply chain experience in planning or production scheduling in consumer goods or a similar fast-moving industry; prior experience in food and beverage preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of supply planning, inventory planning, and production scheduling concepts 
  • Able to work independently and assume ownership of scheduling for the plant with limited supervision
  • Experienced using MS Word, Power Point, Outlook and BI database tools
  • Working knowledge of any ERP systems. Prior use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 an asset.
