Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Fencing Installer will be responsible for numerous and varied routine duties involved in the overall care, maintenance, and general operation of all fencing under the Pala Fleet Maintenance Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be able to install all types of fencing. Chain link, Vinyl, Wood, Rod Iron, etc.
  • Able to build gates, horse panels, stables
  • Lift and mix bags of concrete by hand
  • Work in the shop on projects as assigned
  • Work out in the field on fence projects as assigned
  • Work with minimum supervision at times
  • Perform job duties in a way that promotes a positive image of the departments and the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills, Certifications, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of welding and fabricating metal
  • Knowledge of using Welders, Torches, Plasma Cutter, Drill Press, Chop Saw, Pipe Notcher, Tubing Bender
  • Ability to operate a Bobcat and Auger Machine
  • Ability to operate a Forklift
  • Ability to follow directions and follow through with work assignments

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent education (GED) or related fields
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing during employment.
  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace (including marijuana) as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
  •  Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must have a valid class “C” driver’s license and have a clean driving record.
