The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals aged 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture?s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program awarded to National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise, and experience will truly be valued. The ACES program provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work every day.

Qualifications:Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience in Rangeland Management. OR MA/MS Degree in Rangeland Management. - Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel

Duties:Assist the Director of the Central National Technical Support Center by working with the National Grazing Lands Team to update grazing related training materials with new proven science, technical methods, and technical guidance development. The work will include development of policies and procedures for agricultural, environmental and pasture and rangeland planning phases of NRCS soil and water conservation to carry the NRCS mission regarding the Conservation Technical Assistance Program and other Farm Bill programs. The individual will collaborate with other Federal, State, and professional organizations involved with conservation planning and application related to Farm Bill activities. - Update NRCS grazing related technical training materials including media. 50%
- Coordinates formulation of recommended procedures for developing Planning criteria, methods and procedures for NRCS agency wide use in the planning. 20%
- Collaboration on training, coordinating NRCS contracted training with NRCS led trainings with other NRCS partners such as SRM, NAT GLC. 20%
- Attends meetings, trainings and other duties. 10%
Other:- Annual information system security, anti-harassment, and civil rights training.

- Travel Requirements: Occasionally to satisfy the duties of the position.
- Overnight travel: 5 days per quarter.
- Air travel anticipated: 5 days per quarter.
