Overview of Opportunity
The Senior Vice President of Assets Management is responsible for overseeing, leading and directing the operations and performance of asset-centric activities and strategic initiatives including Maintenance, Equipment Sales and Procurement, and Fuel. Perform key ATS Vice President Responsibilities including:
- Grow the Business by promoting cultural change to optimize opportunities for growth.
- Elevate ATS's Bench Strength by proactively elevating the organizational chart to grow ATS; fostering a culture of development to continually raise the bar; and developing a succession strategy for key roles.
- Improve Operational Effectiveness by identifying and instituting sustainable solutions that address root cause; orchestrating the pace and process of change to maintain operating effectiveness; and instituting system accountability throughout ATS.
- Model Organizational Leadership by inspiring others to embrace our Vision, Mission and Values; building a strong network, bringing best practices and talent to ATS; developing trusting relationships and collaborating to achieve success.
- Shape our Culture by leading a culture in support of ATS's Vision, Mission, Strategy and Values.
- Align actions, behaviors, performance and decisions in accordance with the Company's values as set forth in our All-Employee Competencies.
- Carry out managerial and leadership responsibilities in accordance with ATS's policies and applicable laws.
- Establish and oversee a strategic and systematic process of operating, maintaining, upgrading, expanding and the disposition of our physical assets such as equipment throughout their lifecycle.
- Establish and oversee operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and maintenance of moving assets and shop equipment.
- Plan assets and resources to meet growth requirements of corporate strategic plans.
- Manage and oversee vehicle specifications and asset procurement/disposition process.
- Provide oversight during business unit asset management reviews.
- Oversee and manage the overall financial performance, including but not limited to Revenue Management and overall Profit and Loss for areas of responsibility.
- Establish operating budget, control funds, and authorize expenditures.
- Leverage data, KPI's, and other metrics to identify opportunities to increase overall business performance.
- Communicate effectively with owners and other members of the executive management team (Board) on a regular basis to review company and departmental forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projections.
- Create an engaged workforce and environment that ensures quality service is provided to all customers, drivers, partners, and employees rooted in the company's core values.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners to remain current on industry compliance issues, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Developing strategies in alignment with ATS's Vision, Mission, Values and goals; and driving successful execution of strategy and operating plans.
Ideal Education & Experience
- Master's degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation industry (prefer in depth experience and technically strong with equipment).
- 7 to 10 years of exceptional leadership experience with the ability to relate well with all levels of people inside and outside the organization.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple areas and locations including Maintenance, Equipment Sales and Procurement, and Fuel (e.g. theft, parameters, Trailer & Tractor specifications) in the transportation industry; responsible for all aspects of the departments including P&L.
- Proven ability to elevate bench strength, improve operational effectiveness, model organizational leadership, grow the business, and shape the culture.
- Excellent business acumen with proven ability to analyze data/situations and problem solve in a timely manner.
- Strong understanding of financial information and ability to develop and manage robust budgets.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adapt to the present situation in a professional manner, collaborating with others to grow and continually improve the organization.
- Highly proficient in solving critical issues using sound judgment in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent strategic thinking and planning with the ability to execute.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead others in alignment with organizational goals and objectives and to foster positive employee engagement.
