Metrology Engineer
The Role
Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Metrology Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ.
The key responsibilities of a Metrology Engineer include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement AOI and CMM programs specific to measurements needed for product acceptance
- Document and maintain measurement work instructions for operators using this equipment
- Seek contemporary expansion of technology/equipment for improved metrology
- Obtain regular professional training relative to programming packages for current software packages
- Owns the MSA portion of APQP (Advance Product Quality Plan)
- Coordinates with process and supervision for the acceptance of new CNCs and the bi-yearly capability studies that are conducted on them
- Validate process improvements as required by Engineering and Process

The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Metrology Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
- At least 3 years manufacturing experience working in metrology environment
- Experience with: Nikon measurement microscope, Keyence, Mitutoyo CMM/Optical System with vision pack software preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Minitab
- Comfortable with GD&T / Blueprint interpretation
- 3D modeling software experience: Creo/Pro-E preferred
- Minitab, Microsoft Office, 5S, 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Competencies of data structures
- Calibration Lab Management, ISO/IEC 17025, Z540, etc.
