Safety Compliance Manager
To support the safety functions by ensuring compliance with company, state, and federal regulations and requirements by monitoring drivers' compliance with hours-of-service rules and overseeing contractor compliance with FMCSA. The Compliance Manager will implement corrective and disciplinary action, and develop and conduct driver safety orientation sessions, and compliance efforts. Furthermore, this position is required to complete the annual mock compliance audit for ATS and affiliated companies. This position requires experience in people management in a fast-moving environment.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in safety/compliance or related field; and 4-6 years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation industry resulting in a firm understanding of the Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations (i.e., governing hours of service, driver qualification, hazardous materials, Hazardous Materials Safety Permit, flatbed securement, equipment maintenance).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee the function and perform audits, of driver log reports, for compliance with DOT regulations governing hours-of-service (HOS); investigate and record all violations and provide monthly analytical evaluation reports.

Manage driver fitness programs, such as sleep studies, sleep apnea programs, driver physicals, medical certifications, and drug testing.

Act as a liaison with other departments and affiliated companies by providing leadership, training, and education focusing on compliance, and establishing a rapport between departments.
