Currently we have an opening for a Full-time Certified Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant at our busy AAHA accredited 3 Doctor practice.

We are a full service veterinary practice that offers top quality medical care including digital radiography and digital dental X-rays.

We are seeking a positive, enthusiastic, self-motivated team player for this position. Detail oriented, articulate and practices strong customer and patient care skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintaining medical charts, completing preparatory procedures for Veterinarians, and providing general healthcare information to clients. Perform duties to support the veterinary staff. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO (Responsibilities included but not limited to:)

Provide professional, efficient, quality medical care and exceptional service to clients while maintaining maximum productivity.

Obtain patient medical history from the client.

Perform initial evaluation of pet's condition, collect information from client, observe pet's behavior, and checks vital statistics.

Complete preparatory procedures and assist the Veterinarian throughout the rest of the examination, diagnosis, procedures, and treatment phases.

Restrain pets during exams as needed.

Create and maintain patient medical records and documentation.

Obtain and prepare various samples including blood, urine, and fecal samples for diagnostic testing.

Perform laboratory tests on samples and update the patient's medical chart.

Educate clients about pet health needs, nutrition, and preventative care.

Fill prescriptions under the direction of a Veterinarian.

Administer injections, vaccines, and medication with supervision and under the direction of a Veterinarian.

Support a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork and ensures the delivery of quality, compassionate, effective, and efficient health care to pets.

Comply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, and minimum standards of care.

Perform other duties or projects as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires walking and/or standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted, 75 lbs. with assistance. Working environment may be stressful with aggressive, frightened, abused or injured pets that may bite or scratch. Must be able to work flexible hours.
