The Role

The Junior Network Administrator will assist team members with support, maintenance and optimization of core network services, devices, and communications systems. He/she will also work alongside the Network and Infrastructure Manager to provide logistical support, respond to queries, document changes, and assist with testing, assessment, diagnosis and resolution of network service outages and incidents.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Update and maintain network documentation, assign IP addresses, saves device configurations and implement protocols.
  • Assist with day to day operational tasks such as proactive maintenance, management, monitoring performance, incident and problem management, security, and backup and recovery across the network infrastructure.
  • Build and set up computer networks by physically installing, connecting and configuring equipment.
  • Install and configure network software, including security software and protections.
  • Comply with all accepted change control procedures.
  • Support telecom equipment and other connected devices.
  • Administer access rights and permissions as required by the business.
  • Provide as-needed technical assistance to end-users or the Help Desk

  • Possess working knowledge of communication systems, virtualization, VMWare, VLANs, VPNs or equivalent
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Possess working knowledge of Windows operating system environment
  • Possess working knowledge of Thin Client and Citrix business environments to include Azure

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in computing or information technology or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • 2-3 years prior experience in network administration.
  • Network administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
