Traveling Field Technician

Mi-Tech offers a broad range of professional, engineering and technical services to the telecommunications and power delivery markets. We have a current opening for a Traveling Field Technician. At Mi-Tech, we support our customers and stakeholders and constantly strive to exceed expectations with all of our services, which include: Communications Design Services, Energy Distribution Services, Utility Pole Inspection, and Environmental Services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to acquire field data to be used for the design of power distribution construction plans.
  • Travel in and around Wisconsin and Iowa for two weeks at a time.
  • Collecting field data utilizing GPS Units and other collection tools.
  • Responsible for taking field notes and completing data collection for power utility projects
  • Documentation of field data and taking measurements of existing utilities attached to power or communication company poles
  • Complete and File permit applications
  • Utilize software programs to analyze and compile collected field data

 

Requirements:

  • Valid drivers license
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Applicants must be detail-orientated and have the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to handle more than one project at a time and to meet deadlines
  • 0-1 years related experience
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, GIS, and Pole loading software (O-Calc, Spida) a plus.
  • Knowledge in the Utility Industry. Specifically: Telecommunications, CATV, Gas, or Power Distribution a plus.
