Safety Coordinator

We are currently hiring for a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator for our Integrity team based out of Houston and provide support to our Maryland, Ohio and Minnesota teams. Equix Integrity provides services to the Water/Wastewater collection systems industry, to both the public and private sectors. Our team of professionals have decades of experience in the clean & TV, inspection, rehabilitation and cross bore markets.

Reporting to the Director of HSE the HSE Coordinator travels to field locations to implement consistent and uniform HSE practices specific to the worksite's operational risks and hazards.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of the HSE Program to ensure requirements are consistently and correctly applied.
  • Act as a technical resource with the implementation of HSE program, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform worksite inspections and audits to ensure implementation of the program, identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance.
  • Assist with coach and mentor worksite personnel on HSE related matters.
  • Review contractor HSE programs, processes and plans proposed by contractors and monitor adherence and their performance.
  • Advise on HSE compliance issues and assist in developing mitigation methods and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain, monitor, and provide on-time reporting of HSE performance metrics, statistics, records and incident and injury reports.
  • Orientate and train personnel on HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Support, lead and manage incident investigations and develop reports.
  • Actively participate in company HSE program reviews and recommends improvements.

 

Requirements:

  • An associate degree in HSE is preferred or two (2) years of EHS experience applicable to
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Capacity to travel to job sites, with overnight stays, up to 50% of the time.
  • Knowledge, skills an ability to execute local, state, and federal HSE regulatory requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well and efficiently with a wide variety of people while holding them accountable to HSE requirements.
  • Demonstrated success developing and monitoring HSE standards, procedures, or processes.
  • Demonstrated strengths in problem solving, planning, and coordinating initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and being personally accountable and responsible is essential.
  • Microsoft Outlook email, Word and Excel computer skills.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver' license.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screening

  • Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job
