Utility Worker I - Water Distribution
POSITION SUMMARY: The Utility Worker I – Water Distribution position is responsible for a multitude of tasks, which may vary from day to day, but will primarily involve performing tasks required in operation, maintenance, and repair of the water distribution system and related components; performs work as assigned in water meter reading and maintenance and sewer collection systems. This is an Entry level position which trains to acquire skills in the installation and repair of water and sewer piping and all related components, water meter reading, installation and repair, and equipment maintenance and operation in preparation for future advancement. This position works under the direct supervision of the Division Supervisor or Division Manager and reports indirectly to the Assistant Director and the Director of Utilities.

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. Occasional After Hours Needed
WORK LOCATION: In and around the City of Branson, Missouri; This position requires work to be performed onsite.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Additional licenses or certifications may be required for this position.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
• One (1) year of experience in performing semi-skilled construction, maintenance tasks on water distribution and sewer collection systems or other related maintenance, mechanical or construction work is preferred.
MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be highly engaged in the department's goals and be able to work cooperatively with the Utility Leadership team in achieving those goals.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and be insurable under the City of Branson's motor vehicle coverage when operating a vehicle as a part of the position.
• Possession of a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake endorsement is required within 12 months of hire date.
• Possession of a Missouri level "I" Water Distribution Certificate of Competency is required within 18 months of hire date.
• Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation, drug and alcohol, Pulmonary Fitness (PFT), and physical capability screenings.
