Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree

  • Must possess:
  • ? A valid driver?s license.
  • ? Knowledge of a wide range of technical civil engineering methods, principles, and
  • techniques sufficient to develop and review plans, specifications and estimates of Forest
  • Service facilities. (International Building Codes, Life Safety Code, relevant NFPA and
  • NEC codes and Forest Service building guidelines, requirements, and standards)
  • ? Knowledge of construction techniques to interpret and apply them to contract plans and
  • specifications.
  • ? Knowledge of Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Standards.
  • ? Knowledge of safe work practices and hazard analysis.
  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point
Duties:

This individual will provide project management and/or engineering support for Nursery System facilities and equipment modernization support. This individual is considered to have a demonstrated a range of engineering experience, knowledge and judgment related to facility planning, design and construction/reconstruction, and facility operations and maintenance practices to incorporate into design development; design and contract preparation; and observation of construction activities.

  • Prepares and/or performs technical review of engineering contracts, design drawings and specifications, contract evaluation, and awards.   30%
  • Monitors and observes construction, maintains project documentation, investigates the need for and prepares engineering information related to change orders and/or contract modifications.   30%
  • Provides mentoring and training to Forest Service personnel in design, contract preparation and inspection of facilities projects, and informing them on forest facilities.   30%
  • Supports FMRMVE staff in other related/relevant tasks as needed.   10%
