The Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Administrative / Office support for individuals age 55 and over and per EPA Policy applicants must be US Citizen to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) through a grant administered program through National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise and experience will truly be valued. The EPA provides a wonderful work atmosphere, and you'll be working side-by-side with EPA staff that are doing important work every day. Paid Accrued Vacation, Paid Accrued Sick Time, Paid Federal Holidays + One Individual Holiday, and optional Vision and Dental Insurance available. This position does require a background check prior to onboarding. Must be a United States Citizen to be eligible for this position. Local applicants only. Must live within local commuting distance and able to work onsite as scheduled.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience in Analytical chemistry & tech data review OR BA/BS Degree in Chemistry OR Previously completed training in Analytical chemistry

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Adobe, Copying Machine, Scanner
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook), Adobe, Promium Element, instrument software
Duties:

Analyses of environmental samples. Peer review of analytical data packets.

  • Analytical chemistry including, as required, chemical and instrumental analyses; interpretation, recording and reporting test results; peer review of other analysts; generation and review of SOP?s of existing and new analyses.   100%

  • Mandatory online EPA training in IT, Records and Information Security trainings thru FED TALENT
  • Online training thru FED TALENT and on the job training
  • Health Safety Training: Initial 24-hour lab safety training plus yearly 8 hour updates
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Web Based and on-site live training
  • SEE Enrollee will be handling unknown environmental samples and will be using hazardous chemical associated with analysis.

  • Required Safety Gear: All lab work must be conducted using level D Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Safety Gear Use: Laboratory analysis
