The Agricultural Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program offers unique opportunities in Scientific, Technical, and Agricultural support for individuals aged 55 and over to support the Department of Agriculture?s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) through a grant administered program awarded to National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions). This is a unique program where your talents, expertise, and experience will truly be valued. The ACES program provides an opportunity to work side-by-side with NRCS staff that are doing important work every day. Qualifications:

Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Agronomy, Communications or related field of study OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources, Agronomy, Communications or related field of study

  • Experience with NRCS Engineering Programs preferred.
  • Expert in SharePoint functionality and communication applications.
  • PowerApps and Flow experience required.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Experience required with Windows, Copying Machine, MS Word, MS Excel
  • ACCESS/HANA, IAS, Protracts, PowerPoint NRCS specific and/or certified.
Duties:

Assist the Engineering Branch staff with program communications and technology applications including training, process development, support to States, coordination, and providing technical expertise.

  • Assists with the development of materials using a variety of media including newspapers and magazines, radio and television, exhibits, visual aids, newsletters, and audio-visual presentations; composes communication materials; assists the Engineering Branch in planning and coordinating an effective public information program and providing information on the needs and progress of the engineering activities; and perform a variety of information sharing related duties: technology support / SharePoint / website / Webinar Training / Schedule Coordinator / Program Updates.    65%
  • Assists in design strategies and procedures to obtain opinions from a variety of audiences which are used for developing news articles and feature stories relative to engineering activities; Obtains photographs and videotapes of agency Engineering projects, throughout the area served and reviews photographs for quality and composition for use in presentations, Engineering publications, and displays; maintains imagery files and directory for the assigned state.   18%
  • Assists with writing, assembling, editing, and reviewing stories and activities that represent activities of the engineering programs.   15%
